SHAREHOLDER UPDATES
October 15, 2024
The water season has officially ended!
As previously reported, last week, we did deliver secondary water to all qualified shareholders through Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
However, in cooperation with the Little Cottonwood Creek Commissioners, we are postponing the flushing of our system pipes until next spring. There simply is not enough water in Little Cottonwood Creek to do the work as we had planned—it has been a very dry fall.
You may now prepare your system for the winter freeze at your convenience.
Open your valves & allow the water to drain out to prevent freezing over the winter.
Leave your valves open until spring. (You will be notified when you need to close the valves in March.)
We will communicate in the spring about flushing the main pipes before our 2025 Irrigation Season starts.
The fall assessment will be $130 per share. These assessment notices are being prepared and will be distributed by US Mail within the next week.
Thank you!

In the meantime, if you are experiencing decreased pressure, be sure to check your filters and make sure they are clean.

Spring Pressure Check
It is necessary to fill the system pipeline to determine if new leaks have developed since the system was drained in October. Members and officers of SDDC will be out and about on Saturday, looking for any possible leaks.
Please ensure that your valves are closed on 4/14/2023. (They should have been open during the winter to prevent damage to your pipes.)
IF YOUR METER WAS INSTALLED AFTER THE SEASON ENDED, YOUR VALVES ARE OPEN AND MUST BE CLOSED NOW.
Take special notice of your pipes throughout the day to ensure that you have not developed any leaks of your own.
Contact Bryce John or Kenneth Larsen immediately if you see anything out of the ordinary.
It is also appreciated if you are able to keep an eye out for your neighbors!
If you are out of town and unable to close your valves, please contact us.

May 2, 2022
Our right to take water is determined by the water level in Little Cottonwood Creek. Due to cool temperatures, the spring melt has been slower which affects the start of our water season.
The concrete below the gate in the photo shows the minimum level the creek must reach for our water right.
When the water is available, an email notification will be sent to all shareholders on our mailing list. Please be sure to add southdespainditch@gmail.com to your safe sender list.
~ Historical note ~
Since 2012, our start date has ranged from April 30th to May 20th.
