Creeping Oregon Grape | Mahonia Repens
Duration: Perennial
Leaves: Evergreen
Native: Native to the Intermountain West
Mahonia Repens, or Creeping Oregon Grape, is a natural and welcome addition to most any landscape design in the Historic Granite Community. It grows well, it looks great, and it is “water-wise.” This plant is an evergreen which stays leafy all year long, and this plant is a perennial which will thrive outdoors as a permanent part of any landscape garden design.
Mahonia Repens is native to the Historic Granite Community, so it plays well with other native species (it is not an invasive species). Birds like the bluish berry fruit in the fall, and bees like the yellow flowers in the spring. It does well in sun and shade; it like partial sun or partial shade quite a lot.
